On-Site Education

Building Skills and Competency for Groups

The Nonprofit Center can work with you to tailor any educational program to fit your unique organization, staff, volunteers, board, membership or association. We bring the education and training on-site to accommodate your scheduling needs and budgetary restrictions.

These classes, delivered at your site, are a great time saver when multiple individuals or groups need to enhance their skills and bring the added advantage of a team-building shared capacity-building experience. We can also create a customized package of related programs, including our highly regarded Certificate programs.

The range of topics for On-Site Group Education is as varied as the nonprofit sector is itself, and includes most of the courses offered in our annual Education Guide. Other popular subjects include:

  • A wide range of Human Resources topics, such as supervisory management, employee performance management, interpersonal skills and communications, harassment in the workplace, diversity, employee benefits, managing change, effective teamwork and problem-solving/decision making
  • Customized Certificates
  • Fundraising, including planned giving and endowments, case studies and feasibility studies
  • Volunteer management
  • Financial management, asset management and business planning
  • Board of Directors leadership advancement, such as: best practices in board governance, resource development, board recruitment and retention, and financial management
  • Strategic planning
  • Marketing

On-site group education is wonderful. PYSC was able to choose our favorite Nonprofit Center course, Effective Nonprofit Governance, and have it presented to our members at our office. This was convenient, cost-effective and allowed our members the chance to ask individual and personalized questions. Having {the facilitator} speak directly to our members was so valuable and we’re still hearing great feedback. Even our most mature and experienced nonprofit members said this course should be required for everyone in our sector.

I am very happy that I enrolled in your Nonprofit Management Certificate… it was more concise than other programs would have been; it was taught by seasoned professionals who are highly respected in their fields, and offered a great value for the money. Having entered the nonprofit world only two years ago, with no real knowledge of how they work, the program helped me to understand more about how nonprofits operate (or should operate) to be successful. The instructors were engaging and provided personal experiences that added to the subject matter of each course. I want to thank Laura Otten and her team of instructors for a great experience. I can’t wait to take another program!
